Coronavirus Update
Our Response to COVID-19 and Our Commitment to YOU
At Lifestyle Massage + Bodywork we are committed to your safety, so we are keeping a close eye on the increasing cases in the area. We will be happy to comply with Johnson County's guidelines surrounding any of the newest protocols that might come out. Please reach out with any questions.
With reopening, we will continue our enhanced cleaning regimes. Cleanliness has always been a top priority in our practice, so we will continue to engage in enhanced sanitation and disinfecting processes. Some of these steps include:
-
Frequent and thorough sanitation of all surfaces within our massage clinic, especially high-touch areas such as doorknobs, light switches, credit card checkouts, etc.
-
Sanitizing all items used in each massage session, including linens, towels, face cradles, bolsters, etc.
-
All team members will thoroughly wash their hands with warm soapy water for a minimum of 20 seconds immediately prior to and immediately after each session, and we ask that you do the same.
-
Any team member who feels ill at all will remain home and will not see clients.
-
We will be refraining from all non-massage touch such as handshakes, hugs, etc. (if you know us at all, you know this will be difficult for us!)
Heightened Safety Protocols:
-
Each treatment room has a HEPA filter running.
-
We ask that you keep a safe distance from those in the waiting room and practice efforts to socially distance.
-
Hand sanitizer will be available for use.
-
We will relax our 24 hour cancellation policy relating to any illnesses so that any therapist or any client that feels ill can remain home.
Saturday, March 21st Update:
This past Friday, March 20, Lifestyle Massage + Bodywork made the difficult decision to close Monday, March 23 - April 3 as a precautionary measure related to COVID-19. Even though we love serving our clients and being a place of healing and calm in the midst of an extraordinary crisis, we also deeply value the health and wellbeing of our clients and team members. Ultimately we felt that temporarily closing was in the best interest of our community.
As we were finalizing details of this temporary closure, the governments of the Kansas City Metro issued a stay-at-home order to be in effect for 30 days beginning March 24, so we will now be closed until at least April 23rd. We will continue to monitor the situation and communicate as needed.
Thank you for entrusting us with your health and we look forward to the next time we can serve you through massage therapy! Until then, we are working on ways to continue to bring health and wellness to our clients during this stressful and uncertain time. Please continue to watch your email and follow us on Facebook to see what we are up to!
Saturday, March 14th:
As I'm sure you aware, our country is dealing with a crisis surrounding the novel coronavirus and the resulting disease it creates, COVID-19. Given the unprecedented nature of the situation we are facing, I am writing to let you know how we at Lifestyle Massage + Bodywork are responding and the measures we are taking to ensure the safety of our beloved clients and team members.

We will of course continue to monitor any guidance from the CDC and state and local health officials and will respond accordingly to any new recommendations announced.
We also ask that if you begin to feel ill prior to your scheduled session, for the safety of our team members and other clients, please let us know immediately and reschedule your appointment. We will be relaxing our usual 24-hour cancellation policy for any illness-related reasons, so please do not hesitate to reschedule your appointment even if you wake up the day of your appointment and feel ill. Please also continue to keep yourself informed and follow updates posted on the CDC website: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/summary.html
We know that this is a stressful and uncertain time, but we remain committed to maintaining a space that is not only safe and sanitary, but one that is also peaceful and calming for all of our clients.
And remember, stress has a negative impact on your immune system. So if you’re feeling overwhelmed or stressed out: take a break from the news; go for a walk; play with your pets or kids; do some meditating (here’s a great free app for that).
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out! And if you feel the need for some extra calm and peace in the midst of everything that's going on, our doors are open and we would be honored to serve you!
